child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he
grows up.' Pablo Picasso
I have loved drawing, doodling and painting since I was a small
child. I was encouraged in the endeavor by my parents and teachers.
Life happened and I never pursued art as an adult, other than the
occasional sketch or drawing for my children. After my husband
retired, I found that I had time on my hands. I started drawing
again. I took some classes at a local community art class. I was
hooked! When we moved back to the Midwest I took some Watercolor
classes at a local art gallery. Painting to me is a relaxing outlet.
A way to get lost in whatever I am painting or drawing. To feel not
just see. When I draw a pet or animal I try to instill a look of
life in their eyes. If I am painting a seascape I want to hear the
surf. Barns are a particular favorite of mine. I want the viewer to
feel the history that I feel when I paint them. Painting is a life
long process of learning and growing. I am sure I will feel this way
forever. I create in Oil, Watercolor and Pen & Ink.
